Move over Julia - Esquire meets the actresses who are vying to take your place

You will know her as the big sister in Almost Famous, but 22-year-old Zooey is a good deal funkier than the film that launched her. Named after JD Salinger's heroine, she is high-energy and high-decibel. She arrives for the photo shoot flustered, after a search for her hairbrush (still lost) and her bra (found), but calms herself by sitting down at the piano and playing "The Entertainer" - flawlessly. But then Zooey has always been surrounded by talent: her father is an Oscar-nominated cinematographer, and her mother is an actress. Zooey grew up on film sets, and was watching Kubrick and Hitchcock at the age of 10. This year she is co-starring with Jennifer Aniston in The Good Girl, and her break-out moment could be in the thriller Abandon, directed by Traffic screenwriter Stephen Gaghan. But, you ask, is she any fun? "I love going on rollercoasters, I drink chocolate milk and I like miniature golf," she confesses. What more could you ask for?
